As we prepare for Math & Music Makers this week, I just wanted to send some shout outs and thank you's to some great people who have helped make the camp a super success.  Last week we had some super talented musicians visit and perform for the campers and there are more to come!

David Klausman - Trumpet Player/ Freelance Musician/ Writer/Arranger
David has been sharing his talent with our campers for 2 years now.  He is the Director/Trumpeter of The Victory Jazz Orchestra which is an 18 piece big band playing for public and private functions throughout the Southeast.  He is also the Instrumental Director at Eastside Church in Marietta.
David enjoys our little Math & Music Makers and has inspired many of them to be trumpeters when they grow up!

Samba Diallo – Cultural Art Educator, Certified Fitness Instructor (Group X Instructor) - Dance Coach, Choreographer & Performer-Formerly of the National Ballet of Cote D'Ivoire.
Samba, our guest African Drummer performs internationally and has been entertaining and teaching Math & Music Makers rhythm and dance for 2 years.  Samba tells us he is really a dancer who can play African Drums.  He learned to play the Djembe to help teach his dance moves when drummers were not available.  We appreciate his drumming and his dancing.  It’s a lesson and a workout in one!

This is the 2nd year we have worked with Ahmad Mays , the Community Programs Coordinator of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Thanks to Ahmad, we have partnered with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and their “Musicians in Schools” program which brings symphony musicians to our camp to share their talent & instruments.  Last week, Bassoonist Juan de Gomar visited the camp and left the children (and the adults too!) in awe with the deep melodious sound of the bassoon.  We love the ASO!  Here are some video clips of Juan’s visit! Bassoon videoAhmad Mays , the Community Programs Coordinator of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra
