Day One Re-Cap

Hello moms and dads!!! Welcome to the Math and Music Makers blog. This  blog contains various fun-filed yet intellectual activities that are conducted during your child's stay at the Math and Music Makers summer camp.  Everyday will be filled with something totally fresh and mentally stimulating in order to get your child's mind working in a new way.  Today officially marks Day 1 of our journey through Math and Music land! This week in math, we will be reviewing the concepts of shapes through diverse workshops and small group games. With our new found knowledge, we will then discover ways in which shapes not only apply in math but also how they apply to musical concepts, things that surround us in our day-to-day lives, etc. We  hope you are as excited as we are and we strongly encourage you to follow us as we continue our journey through Math and Music land :)

                                                                    

 This is a picture of a our mystery musician, the talented Mr. David . Mr. David is a  professional trumpet player who plays at various local events and venues; the students were fortunate enough to learn a little bit of history concerning the logistics of the trumpet family. After the mini lecture, every student got their own special mouth piece and had a chance to play the trumpet for him/her self.
